Event Speakers

MEITSEC 2007 call for speakers now is closed.
Interested speakers are welcome to submit their papers. An independent panel, part of the MEITSEC Organizing Committee, will review all submissions and once approved will be assigned to the appropriate stream. A final review is carried by Conference Management, and the speakers along with their proposed topics are announced in the official event schedule. All proposed participants, including speakers and moderators, will be notified via e-mail of their application or participation status.

Selection Criteria

Here are some of the selection criteria that the panel uses to include a speaker or topic to this year's Conference:

    • Priority is given to speakers offering engaging and relevant topics in the information security field, original or ground-breaking research authors, industry key figures, prominents speakers from other major IT security events (BlackHat, Defcon, RSA, etc). But even if you do not consider yourself as a part of this list, and you have an interesting or edifying story to tell, please let us know.
    • Relevance and timeliness. How fresh, important and relevant is the topic for Conference attendees?
    • Technical level. MEITSEC participants are not interested in another "general security awareness" presentation. Also, certain time limitations will not allow them to go through the complete source code of your latest exploit. Please consider a technical proposal that includes practical value, maybe a demo and keep your eyes on the strategic importance.
    • Educational value. We will not allow disguised sales pitches. There are dedicated sessions for that (read below).
    • Personal expertise. Are you the expert in the topic and can you deliver it in an engaging and professional way?

Product-oriented or self-promotional presentations and topics are strongly discouraged. If you are a vendor and you would like to present and promote your product, visit the Partnership Opportunities section of this website. You will have the opportunity to market your services during the dedicated vendor sessions.

If your would like to submit a topic, please contact us. The MEITSEC 2007 Call for Speaker closes Friday, August 17th 2007.
