Mohamed Nasser Al Ghanim
Board Member and Director General, Telecommunications Regulatory Authority
Mohamed Nasser Al Ghanim is one of the few telecom engineers in the United Arab Emirates who, in a short period of time, achieved great accomplishments both on the academic and the career sides. Currently, Mohamed Al Ghanim is the Board Member and Director General of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) which is entrusted with regulating all of the Telecom sectors in UAE; a vital sector, which comes second only to Oil and Gas.
Under Al Ghanim tenure, TRA has succeeded in implementing the regulatory framework for the sector, including the necessary policies, such as Interconnection Agreements and Pricing Policies, for the creation of a healthy and a competitive environment. During the initial six months of operation, TRA has launched Spectrum National Plan and Spectrum Frequency Chart map. Although United Arab Emirates was the last country in the region to regulate the telecom sector, the national spectrum plan and the chart were the first of their kind in the region. Among other TRA achievements is the licensing of a second operator: Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (DU), in addition to the existing operator Emirates Telecommunications Corporation (Etisalat).
Lance Spitzner
Mr. Spitzner is an internationally recognized cyber threat researcher, invented and developed the concept of honeynets. Lance Spitzner is the author of the book "Honeypots: Tracking Hackers", co-author of "Know Your Enemy: 2nd Edition", and the author of over thirty security whitepapers and articles. He is the founder of the Honeynet Project - an international, non-profit security research organization that captures, analyzes, and shares information on cyber threats at no cost to the public. He has spoken for numerous organizations including the NSA, FIRST, the Pentagon, the FBI Academy, the President's Advisory Board, SANS, the Navy War College, the British CESG, the Department of Justice, and Monetary Authority of Singapore.
Prof. Clive Walker
Professor of Criminal Justice Studies at the School of Law, University of Leeds
Professor Walker was the Dean of the School between 2000 and 2005. He has written extensively on criminal justice issues, with many published papers not only in the UK but also in several other countries, especially the USA, where he has been a visiting professor at George Washington and Stanford Universities. His books have focused upon terrorism and the law, including, "The Anti-Terrorism Legislation" (Oxford University Press, 2002). In 2003, he was a special adviser to the UK Parliamentary Select Committee which was considering what became the Civil Contingencies Act 2004. A further book commentating upon that Act, "The Civil Contingencies Act 2004: Risk, Resilience and the Law in the United Kingdom", was published by Oxford University Press in 2006. Prof. Walker has also been called upon to prove advice to other UK Parliament Committees on terrorism and to the UK Government’s independent adviser on terrorism.
He teaches in criminal justice and constitutional issues, with innovative postgraduate courses in terrorism laws. He also supervises postgraduate research students, including some from the Middle East region.
Carole Longendyke
Director, Forensic and Investigative Services
Carole Longendyke is a Director in Grant Thornton’s Forensic and Investigative Services group, providing fraud and computer forensic investigations and consulting for government and private practice.
She has education, training, and experience in crime scene investigations and analysis, criminal investigations, crime and intelligence analysis, and emergency incident response. As a certified computer forensic examiner (EnCE), Ms. Longendyke has been involved in a number of high profile investigations including the Enron/Merrill Lynch Nigerian Barge Trail in Houston, Texas where she provided consulting services to the Special Attorney of the Enron Task Force.
In her current role at Grant Thornton, she works with the firm’s fraud investigators and forensic accountants to uncover, analyze, and present electronic evidence in matters of fraud and corruption.
Ms. Longendyke graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Forensic Psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, City University of New York. She is based in Washington DC and resides in Northern Virginia.
Michael Gunnison
Resident Legal Advisor, United States Department of Justice (DOJ)
Michael J. Gunnison is the Resident Legal Advisor for the United States Department of Justice (DOJ) in the UAE. Mr. Gunnison received a Bachelor’s degree in International Affairs from George Washington University in Washington, DC, and a Juris Doctor degree from St. John’s University School of Law in New York, where he was Executive Notes and Comments Editor of the St. John’s Law Review and President of the Society of Comparative and International Law. He subsequently served as Law Clerk to Judge Dominick L. DiCarlo of the U.S. Court of International Trade.
He joined the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Eastern District of New York in 1987. Since 1990 Mr. Gunnison has worked in the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the District of New Hampshire, specializing in the prosecution of complex financial crimes. He has prosecuted numerous cybercrime and money laundering cases, including the case of notorious eBay fraudster Jay Nelson. Mr. Gunnison became Chief of the Criminal Division in 2002 and Executive Assistant U.S. Attorney in 2004.
He also serves as Coordinator for his district’s Anti-Terrorism Advisory Council. Mr. Gunnison is currently on assignment with DOJ’s Office of Overseas Prosecutorial Development, Assistance and Training, and is stationed at the American Embassy in Abu Dhabi.
Ahmad AlMulla

Mr. Ahmad AlMulla is a graduate of The University of Arizona in Computer Engineering, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1987. In 1993 he received a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) degree from Australia.. Additionally, Mr. Almulla has completed the “Program for Executive Development” from International Institute for Management Development (IIMD).
Jean-Francois Legault

Jean-François Legault is a Senior Manager with Deloitte & Touche’s Forensic & Dispute Services practice in Montreal where he specializes in computer forensic investigations and the prevention and detection of computer based fraud.
He is a member of the Adjunct Faculty of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners where he gives seminars and conferences on topics relating to computer crime and fraud. He is also a frequent guest speaker at fraud and information security conferences where he leads seminars on cyber fraud prevention and detection as well as digital investigations.
Jean-Francois graduated from HEC Montreal with a Bachelor of Business Administration and went on to obtain a Master of Science in Management degree, specializing in Management Information Systems. He currently holds the CISSP, GCIH, GCFA, CISA, CISM, ITIL designations.
Abdelkarim Darwish,

Dr. Abdelkarim has obtained his PhD from the University of Illinois at Chicago, USA in 1994. He is considered as an expert at many global, regional and local institutions such as United Nations, the Arab Administrative Development Association, the Naif Arab University for Security Sciences NAUSS, the American University in Cairo UIC, the National Center for Criminal and Social Studies in Cairo, the Demographic Center in Cairo, the Administrative Development Institute in UAE. Currently, he is in charge of the Strategic Management Section in Sharjah Police Research Center.
Avinash Kadam

Mr. Avinash Kadam (CISA, CISM, CISSP, CBCP, GSEC, GCIH) was the President of the ISACA Mumbai Chapter from 1998 to 2000, a member of ISACA’s K-Net Board from 2001 to 2002, a member of ISACA’s Research Board from 2002 to 2004, and an International Vice President of ISACA since 2006. In June 2005, he was awarded the Harold Weiss Award, which recognizes dedication to the IS audit, control and security profession.

Kevin Mansell

Kevin Mansell is a recognised authority in the field of mobile phone forensics with a proven track record in training high tech crime investigators in the safe and effective retrieval of digital evidence.
Prior to starting his own company, Kevin spent 3 years as a high tech crime trainer at the UK's National Centre for High Tech Crime Training. Kevin has trained law enforcement personnel in mobile phone forensics, network and internet investigations and computer forensics. Since developing an entry-level course for mobile phone examiners in 2005, Kevin has successfully delivered mobile phone forensics training to over 200 students from the UK and overseas.
Kevin has represented the UK on Interpol's European Working Party on IT Crime where he collaborated with overseas colleagues to identify and publish good practice in the rapidly maturing field of mobile phone forensics. He has also spoken at both national and international electronic crime conferences.
Before working in the field of digital forensics, Kevin gained 9 years experience working within the telecommunications industry in a variety of technical and project management roles. Robert Bagnall

Andrea Barisani is a system administrator and security consultant. His professional career began 8 years ago but all really started when a Commodore-64 first arrived in his home when he was 10. Now, 16 years later, Andrea is having fun with large-scale IDS/Firewalls deployment and administration, forensic analysis, vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, security training and his Open Source projects. He eventually found that system and security administration are the only effective way to express his need for paranoia.
Andrea is currently a member of the Gentoo Security and Infrastructure Team. Also as an active member of the international Open Source and security community he's maintainer/author of the tenshi, ftester and openssh-lpk projects and he's been involved in the Open Source Security Testing Methodology Manual, becoming a ISECOM Core Team member. Outside the community he has been a security consultant for Italian firms and he's now the co-founder and Chief Security Engineer of Inverse Path Ltd. When outside his text-based world he joins real life and among many hobbies he studies for a Bachelor's degree in Physics.

Faiz AlRaisi
Mr. AlRaisi is the Head of Information Assurance Team responsible for corporate wide infrastructure security at Oman Telecommunication Company (OMANTEL). He has joined Omantel in early 2003 as an Information Security Specialist, working previously with the Diwan of Royal Court (DRC), where he was in charge of DRC's High level accounts. At DRC he has led multiple large-scale projects, such as the upgrade and the security of the Court's information infrastructure.
Mr. Faiz AlRaisi is a UK's Cleveland College Computer Science graduate. He has obtained his Master's degree in Information security at the University of London, Royal Holloway in 2002. Mr. Vitaliy Kamlyuk,

Vitaliy Kamlyuk works for Kaspersky Lab since 2005. He graduated from Belarussian State University, with specialization in the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science. He was offered to join Kaspersky team after winning the first prize at one of student conferences in Information Security held in Moscow.
He joined the company as a developer but his knowledge in different areas of IT helped him to work as Unix system administrator, supporting critical services, 'Technological Inventor'. He also actively took part in public speaking. The peak of his interests ended up in antivirus lab. Now he is a senior 'virus analyst' and his major interest is 'botnets'.
Arnold S. Yoon,

Arnold S. Yoon is the Awareness and Collaboration Liaison for CERT Coordination Center, United States.

Matthew McGlashan,
Team Leader of the Coordination Centre at AusCERT, Australia's national Computer Emergency Response Team.
Before Joining AusCERT in 2000, Matthew worked as a consultant for PricewaterhouseCoopers in IT security consulting, auditing and risk management.
Most recently, Matthew has been developing and coordinating AusCERT's incident response capability targeting malicious code.

Robert Lowe,

Robert Lowe has worked at AusCERT (the Australian Computer Emergency Response Team) since June 2003 as a Computer Security Analyst. His work at AusCERT includes providing AusCERT members with assistance with Incident Response and a plethora of other programming, analytical and training tasks. Prior to joining AusCERT Robert was a Senior Client Services Engineer for an Internet gambling software provider. Robert's previous experience includes systems and database administration, development, training delivery, as well as application integration and support. Robert graduated from the University of Technology, Sydney in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science (Computing).
Karel Rode,
Solutions Strategist for Security Practice, CA Africa
Karel is a 45 year old IT security professional that attained his CISSP in 2002 whilst in the employ of Dimension Data Security in Cape Town. He has worked as a freelance security consultant, defining Identity and Access Management principles, policies and architecture for a large finical services organization, deployed perimeter security controls for a number of retail, financial, chemical companies and education organizations.
He currently works for CA Africa as the solutions strategist for the security practice, assisting the sales organization and CA partners. His main focus areas are identity management, host access management, security information management and network based forensics.
Karel serves as one of the directors of the Internet Security Group of Africa and has been instrumental in starting a remote chapter for the ISG in Nigeria.
Ganesan Lakshmanan,

Working as Team Leader for Security Management with CA in the Arab Countries, Ganesan is responsible for understanding customer requirements and providing suitable security solutions based on CA technology through consulting and solution architecting.

Moatasem Ayyash,

Ian M. Dowdeswell,
Ian M. Dowdeswell is the Incident Manager in Qatar’s CERT (Q-CERT).
Ian joined in February 2007. The incident management team, provides proactive threat and vulnerability warning services and a reactive incident response capability, including forensic investigation, for both Qatar and the GCC region.
Ian was commissioned into the British Army, in 1975, following officer training at the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst and has served on a variety of operational tours, command, teaching and staff appointments worldwide.
Following completion of a Masters Degree in Design of Information Systems in 1994, he specialised in computers and information systems. He has since been actively engaged in the formulation of policy and procedures, research, procurement, as well as practical implementation of information security and its management in Government networks.
In March 2003, he was appointed Head of UK MOD’s Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT), whose role is to co-ordinate Information Security and Computer Network Defence (CND) pan-MOD, for the Army, Navy and RAF, as well as the MOD Agencies and Trading Funds.
Apart from his MSc in Design of Information Systems from the University of Cranfield (UK), Ian is also a qualified Computer Information Security Manager (CISM), a Member of the British Computer Society (MBCS) and an Associate of the newly founded Institute of Information Security Professionals (IISP). Ian also holds a BSc (Honours) in Biochemistry from the University of Birmingham (UK) and a Masters Degree in Biochemistry from the University of London (UK).

M Divakar Kini is a post graduate from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. He is currently heading Architecture and IT Security in NBD.
He has 24 years experience in IT management, Strategic Planning, Applications, Infrastructure/ Technology and Information Security.
He is the architect of the in-house developed internet banking application, which NBD launched in 1998. He is responsible for bank-wide IT architecture (both applications and infrastructure) & Security and is a firm believer that investments in Architecture and Security can actually provide ROI. Mr. Kini has had an active role in the evolution the internet banking has witnessed over the years in NBD.

Maxim holds his MBA in Innovations

a BA degree in Public Relations from Tambov State Technical University.
Before joining Kaspersky Lab, Maxim held senior business development and
key account management positions in SPIRIT Corp., TerraLink Technologies
and SWEBERS Group – all involved in the ITC industry.
Mohammed Al-Raisi,

Joined Muscat Municipality in September 1990 as a systems engineer, and then soon became a project leader to many key strategic projects such as vehicle fleet management system, addressing system, municipal licensing system, boards and health management systems.
Furthermore, became the IT development team head, then after became the Applications director whom responsibilities were, heading the infrastructure (network, security, database and systems) and also the development team
Mohammed Al-Raisi, did his masters (MSc) in Information security from University of London, Royal Holloway in 2002, followed by a CISSP certification (among the first Omanies if not the first to become a CISSP). The creator and moderator of a mailing list focused on awareness and promoting information security in Oman, among the first mailing lists that warned about Mblaster worm and now the Microsoft DNS-RPC vulnerability.
