Conference Agenda

MEITSEC 2007 agenda is currently undergoing final review by the Conference Technical Advisory Committee. This year's conference will hold three main tracks:

  1. Cyber Crimes, Law and Forensics

This stream is directed towards law enforcement officers, court & prosecution officials, lawyers & legal advisers, financial fraud investigators, security & compliance managers, etc. Some of the focal points of this stream will be cyberterrorism and information espionage. Also a number of sessions, dedicated to the use of electronic forensics, will address the needs of both government organizations and private enterprises..

  2. Information Security Management

The latest trends in information security management will be discussed, including standards (such as ISO 27001 and ISO 20000), risk management, compliance, policies, methods (ITIL and CoBiT). Enterprise security architects, managers and consultants from all over the region and outside will share best practices, experience and information security management strategies.

  3. Enterprise and Infrastructure Security

The Enterprise and Infrastructure Security track will cover a wide variety of topics, such as VoIP security, AJAX-related vulnerabilities, current trends in Unified Threat Management, network & system security threats; and many other important information security-related issues will be discussed. This broad range of topics will help engaging participants of all technical levels and backgrounds, and will expose MEITSEC 2007 attendees to the different areas and aspects of information security.

Conference participants will be able to attend any session irrespective of the subject or stream. The MEITSEC 2007 conference this year will take a more practical and hands-on approach, delivering better learning, more networking opportunities, more product demonstrations and workshops than any other security event in the region.

MEITSEC will include a two-day conference (November 12th and 13th), and numerous two-day workshops (November 14th and 15th), as well as an exhibition at the American University of Sharjah; so mark your calendars and prepare for the region's premiere information security event.
